TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: DECEMBER 21, 2010
LUNAR ECLIPSE, from December 21, 2010. Original Photographic Print, combining a series of 5 of the best photos, (out of over 120 images taken), with a telescope tracking the Eclipse, combined with a Digital SLR camera attached to the back. This was the RARE Lunar Eclipse event, that occurred in conjunction with the Dec. 21st, Winter Solstice, which has not happened since the year 1638. It will not occur again until Dec. 21st, 2094. Each photo was chosen to represent a dramatic phase of the eclipse and placement in the series was arranged based on quality of the photo, and visual artistic balance to the eye. One single image could not portray the beauty and drama of the event, which is why these 5 images were chosen. The original images were combined in this sequence, and are professionally printed in a lab, as a single image. Each is an original photographic print, personally signed by the Artist Astronomer Photographer. On lower left, photo is signed, identifying the Eclipse, and lower right by the Astronomer Photographer.
